Woodland Hill Climb (22nd May 2015)Woodland HC 2015

Its taken a few years but we finally booked some good weather for the 2015 St Marys Hospice Woodland HC.
13 riders put back wheel to post and grabbed the railings next to the cattle grid before hoying themselves onwards at the 'go'.

It's a steep start, then the 'flat' section before the right turn where it all goes silly. By the top everyone was tasting blood as they crossed the line on what must be one of the most picturesque races in the NW.

953 Steele showed his class with a new course record and our first sub 5 minute ride at 4:41.
Next up was another climbing masterclass from Dave Ralph and he was chased by Kieran Lacey showing he is clearly on fantastic form.

Apart from Craig's record blitz, ride of the night must go to Glennroy as he set a new Wheelers record at 5.35. Sean Casson was just behind & followed up his Wednesday night cup win with another strong ride.
I was next up and right on my tail was Graham.

Graham decided he was in need of a harsh warm up so he bust a spoke prior to the start line, rode up to the top to blag a back wheel off Glenn, rode back down where the timekeeper set him off - again!
Big Rog kept the tribars on... God knows?

Ulverston Triclub showed they have the fitness & balls to race no matter what the setting, with Dan Hartley just pipping Euan McKinnon for club honours.
Next to crest were Tom Southward and Paul McKenny, and representing the girls was Mhairi Helme.

Steve Jenkins and Graham Lindow acted as timelords, with marshalling/cheerleading/podium girls from the rest of the Lindow crew Roz, Freya, Eve, Heidi & Daisy.

We raised a few quid for the hospice & the weather was good, so it was a success all around.

Thanks to everyone who is supporting these events, and see you again soon.
The next Hopsice Hill Climb event is the Gamswell Hill Climb on 16th Jun 2015.
